Born 25 March 1947

Elton John is an English rock singer-songwriter, composer and pianist. In his 40-year career he has sold more than 250 million records.
In 2008, Billboard magazine ranked him as one the most successful artists on "The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists" after The Beatles and Madonna.
He has been heavily involved in the fight against AIDS since the late 1980s.
